We've still got a ways to go before this project is completed, but we are loving what we have done so far.
Bill did a great job designing and making our version of a bay window. When I suggested we extend the two windows beyond the outside wall, I pictured a plain flat, straight line canopy as that would have been easier and quicker to do. Bill, forever the artist, saw a canopy with curves. So far, the design and construction of the canopy has taken longer than the preparation and installation of the new windows. Intermingled with his grumbling that the project is taking longer than expected there are sighs of satisfaction and accomplishment and the joy of being able to sit down at the kitchen table and see beyond the kitchen wall.
Amist all of this... I was able to continue my project of canning for the winter. I'm proud to announce that we have 34 quarts of homemade spaghetti sauce added to the 18 quarts of butter sugar corn, 25 quarts of string beans and 7 pints of sweet cucumber relish that I put up last weekend. I'm going to have to make more relish. It tastes so darn good we've already gone through a pint this week. Hot dogs and bologna sandwiches never tasted soooo good!!! hehehe
